Danube-Bank Renewal
For residents of the inner city, the renewal of the Danube riverbank represents a huge opportunity: it is an obvious and perhaps the only chance to replace the missing green spaces and functions. We are participating in the work of the Civil Waterfront Working Group, have conducted a survey of land-use needs, and collected ideas (for example through local mailing lists). We forwarded a document containing our proposals based on this survey to the Urban Planning Department of the Mayor’s Office, and we are also sharing it as an inspirational outline with the district’s residents and other interested parties.
Our outline is not a construction plan. Its goal is to place the functions identified with the involvement of stakeholders within the available space of the Belgrád riverbank. Another aim is to initiate a dialogue in which local needs and considerations can be taken into account during the renewal of the Danube waterfront, helping the people who live here to feel that the renewed space truly belongs to them.
